Essential oils which are extracted from plants contain unique healing properties and incorporating them into a gentle massage, can help to improve health and well-being. Aromatherapy can have a powerful effect on all of the body’s systems, including our muscular, respiratory, circulatory and nervous systems.
When we inhale an essential oil, through the olfactory system (our sense of smell), the body’s limbic system (controls emotions) responds which can activate strong emotional responses such as happiness, pleasure, memory or even pain or anger. This can occur within minutes of the essential oil’s molecules entering the bloodstream.
Psychologically, aromatherapy can have a profound effect on the body’s systems and can induce deep relaxation and/or stimulate energy levels; relieves stress, anxiety and nervous tension; encourages better sleeping patterns; helps release endorphins and bring a sense of well-being; releases negative emotions/blockages stored in the body; brings mental clarity/focus and provide feelings of self-worth and nurturing.
In a typical aromatherapy session, Angela will carry out a full consultation, during which we will discuss your medical history, lifestyle and concerns. Oils will be carefully selected, creating a bespoke blend for your individual needs. You will be asked to undress down to your underwear and lie down whilst your chosen oils are massaged into your skin. During your therapy, towels are used to maintain your modesty at all times.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of the course of aromatherapy massages which has definitely had an impact.
